Dr. Yusuf has formerly taught at the Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, USA; Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand; College of Islamic Studies, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani, Thailand. Dr. Yusuf has contributed to the Oxford Encyclopedia of Modern Islamic World, Encyclopedia of Qur'an (E. J. Brill) and Oxford Dictionary of Islam.
