Monday, 04 January 2010The All island association of Jameitul Ulemas have commended the attempt made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to create brotherhood in the country. The representatives of the association held a special meeting with the President recently.They commended all measures taken by the President in connection with the Muslims living in the north and east. The President has been able to maintain goodwill with Islamic countries, they claimed.They stressed that their fullest support will be extended to the programme of the President. Expressing his views, the President said that he was focusing on improving the education of Muslims.The President pointed out that the aim of the government is to protect the local business community.
